Competitive Relations…

A miserable, grey and rainy afternoon, Ian & Ben (Father and Son) try their hand at river fly fishing

Ben

With nothing to entice fish to the surface the guys nymph with my favourite #18 RNPTN’s. 10 footers and long leaders the order of the day. Ben with his first ever grayling plucked from marginal cover.

Ben

Grayling do have a lovely smile

Grayling

The occasional unsettling interruption… typically dads gone off on one while mum trundles behind looking after the troublesome kids.

Swans

Fishing the pushing water and harsh currents well within the reach of the rods, they’re constantly plucking fish from the margins… the fish were mind bogglingly fast and feisty this afternoon

Look dad I’ve caught a big fish… ner ner!

Ben

Trout

You call that a big fish do ya?… how about the rudder on this then son (Dad knows best)

Ian

Trout

Thanks guys, a sublime afternoon with heaps of reward… look forward to the next outing
