Learning the ropes…
Warren learning the ropes… to be more specific, a furled leader masterclass.

And where better to make them but on the banks of the river you’re going to use them.

Oops!… there’s a fine line between too much tension and not enough (Too much on this occasion).

Warren, leader number 2 is constructed with total concentration… I feel success looming.

Voila… utter perfection, a shorb loop and tip ring a la’ hand shake ~ awesome mate.

After many an hour furling, sewing some grass seed and generally larking about, it was time on such a beautiful afternoon as this to get a dipping and fishing.
Warrens demonstrates his Tea Pot technique… then… fish on! (Note to self – try tea pot
)

With a surprising number of yearling mayfly on the wing betwixt clouds of sedge, we fish through into the early evening and see more than we catch… which in turn was only but a few.

All the same is there ever a better way to while away a glorious sunny afternoon?

Tomorrow it’s off to the Olympics and Eton Dorney to cheer on Team GB and watch the finals of the Kayak and Canoe events… tight lines and enjoy this sunny interruption over this weekend.
