The intermediate fly fishing course is designed to further develop your fly fishing and fly casting skills. Improve your casting distance, fly casting accuracy, general fly fishing techniques & overall knowledge when fly fishing for trout & grayling on rivers & lakes.
Although the intermediate fly fishing course is tailored specifically for you, The following is some of the typical elements covered within the course.
It's by no means exhaustive and in no way meant to be formal, we'll be out on the water doing all the fly fishing stuff, lots of talking, the
sharing of knowledge & having some great fun at the same time:
- Review of outfit & improving line & leader set up
- Roll cast techniques
(Jump Roll, hauling techniques)
- Overhead cast
(Single & double hauling for distance)
- Directional change casts
(Single and double Spey casts)
- Dry fly presentations for drag free drifts
(Mend and reach casts)
- Dry fly, wet fly & nymphing techniques
- Return or Dispatch
(Safe return or dispatching of the fish once caught)
All your fly fishing tackle is provided FREE for the duration of the tuition
The above intermediate fly fishing casts can be taught at almost any location. A number of the casting techniques however are best suited to certain conditions and specific locations (These will be discussed and covered prior to the tuition)
Intermediate fly fishing tuition can be conducted on any of the chalkstream, river or stillwater venues listed depending on conditions, locations, and the types of water you're likely to have access too.
All part, full day and extended fly fishing courses are based on a 1-2-1 principle unless you're actually bringing a friend or a partner. You'll have my total & undivided attention for the duration of your course.
